Tag you're it!

Here's how it works:
list 7 random facts that people might not know about you (to get to know each other better!) then pass the award along to more lovely bloggers. My lovely friend Marci tagged me so it's my turn!

1. I was born in Indiana and then lived in Chicago until I was 12 and then moved
back to Indiana where I graduated high school before leaving for
college in Idaho.

2. I loved spending time with my siblings when I was growing up. I would hang out
all the time with my four brothers. It was because of them I learned to
love sports so much.

3. French toast and lasagna are my two favorite foods in the entire world.

4. I only have one kidney, my right one was removed when I was a baby because it hadn't
developed correctly. Before I married P, whenever I brought a guy home, my brother Joey made sure
that was the first thing he told them just to embarrass me. Lol gotta love brothers.

5. The original Karate Kid is my all time favorite movie...."put 'em in a body bag Johnny! Yeahhh!"

6. I love speaking in public....aka public speaking!

7. My biggest fear when I was growing up was that someone would attack my dad's plane
while he was flying it. (He was a captain for American Airlines for 20 or so years.)

Ok now it's your turn! AmyKellie, and Jenni  I would love
to read what your 7 things are!

I loved to read when I was growing up......still doing both.

Here are two of those lovelies:

Did you have a favorite picture book when you
were younger?

I gave away all my kids books after I felt like
it was time to move on to more mature books like the babysitter's club and
Beezus and Ramona. Now I'm regretting that
decision because someday when P and I have babies they're not going to have
anything to read.

..................

So now I'm working on gathering a small collection
of kids books to have available at a moment's notice.

Also, here is a picture of my niece and her yard she's growing in a cup.

You're welcome.

I found it.............

Yesterday I stumbled upon my dream house.....
I love this house. I've never been one for having a huge house.
We lived in one when I was a kid and I hated it because it would literally take
all day to clean.
I like a house to be a nice size but also cozy.
I would rather have a nice but normal sized house and save money for
amazing trips with my family etc...
That's one of the reasons I like this house so much. It's beautiful but it's not
a huge ridiculous mansion. It is however,
a really really big house, I would want my copy to be a bit smaller, but I love
the set up and the look of it. I love the arched doors the most....also the
wood floors...oh what the heck I love everything!
The only thing I would love more of is trees.

The two most important rooms in a house to me are the kitchen and the den/library.
Unfortunately this house is currently under ownership but that's not going to stop me from
dreaming.
Speaking of dreams.....the moment you've all been waiting for has arrived...............

the kitchen:
drooollllll

If this house looks familiar to you it's because The Uninvited was filmed here.

Yeah I know that means it's not cheap.....and it's not. I'm not going to
tell you how much it costs because it's too
depressing. Isn't it great though?

sigh.....a girl can dream right?

My boss had the most
fabulous going away CAKE
She's moving to the very hot state of Texas.

It took me about two hours to finish my piece. But it
was worth every bite.

Good luck Steph, you were the best!

The object of my affection

There's no one is this world I
love more than my P.

These are two pictures from when P and I were dating.
This is from when P took me to PA to meet his family.
This is the day P asked me to marry him at Peddler's Village.

Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

I came across this Spaghetti Sauce recipe a little
while ago and it's been my staple ever since.
The recipe is originally for lasagna but I have used
this sauce for everything, from actual spaghetti to chicken Parmesan.
One of the things I like the most about it, (besides the homemade goodness!) is it's
a really thick sauce. Not runny like some of the store brand sauces.

1pd. sweet Italian sausage
1 pd ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic

On med. heat, brown ground beef, sausage, onion and garlic in a pot for about 6-7 mins or until
no longer pink. Remove from heat. Add:

1 (28oz) can of crushed tomatoes
2 (8oz) cans of tomato sauce
2 (6oz) cans of tomato paste
1/2 cup of water

Gently stir into the cooked meat, add:

2 TB sugar
2 ts basil leaves chopped (I use dry leaves)
2 TB fresh Italian parsley chopped
1 ts salt
1 ts Italian seasoning
1/2 ts ground pepper

Gently stir into sauce. Cover the pot and let the sauce simmer on low heat for 1 hour
and thirty minutes.

Downtown

Our city is well known for it's famous 25th street.
After I took P to work I decided to head that way to take some fun pictures. Enjoy!
